Officers /Extension personnel • Mass media: TV, Radio, SMS messages, Regular bulletin, distribution of leaflets/ pamphlets, advertisements • SRI Diwas: One day campaign in each Panchayat • KharifRath: Film, Audio • Workshops: District workshop cum farmer’s awreness

IMPLEMENTATION : KaushalVikas • Kaushalvikas of 25 lakh agriculture labour • Creation of one crore man days to maximize SRI coverage • Kaushalvikas of SRI nursery & transplanting tech. • 300 trainee/ panchayat in group of 50s - 6 days • Arrangement for live training • Hand holdings from JEEVIKA/ WDC/PRADAN/KVKs/SAUs/ Officers/ SRI lead farmers • Time schedule of training

IMPLEMENTATION : Selection • Selection of villages • Selection of site • Selection of clusters and farmers within cluster • Minimum Area of beneficiary -25 decimal • Maximum Area of beneficiary- 1 Acre • Reservation for 16% SC, 1%ST farmer • Priority to 30% women farmer • Responsibility of KS/AC/BAOs for selection • Monitoring of completion of selection by DAO

  16. IMPLEMENTATION : Block camps • Trainings to beneficiaries in groups of 50 each • SRI Quiz competition among farmers • INPUT DISTRIBUTION • Participation of authorized dealers in camps • Selected farmers buy inputs • Re-imbursement to farmers on same day

  17. IMPLEMENTATION : SRI Diwas • Massive campaign in each panchayat • Campaign Day 24th May • KS/AC will organize campaign • DAOs will monitor the campaign

IMPLEMENTATION : KisanPathsala • Linkage of 25-30 other farmers of nearby villages • Training at SRI clusters • Trainings on nursery, transplanting, Conoweeder and IPM module • Field day & Crop Cutting on last day • Crop cutting on demonstration plot and non-SRI plot • Scientist /Statistician’s presence in crop cutting • Documentation of scientist’s observations • Recording details of farmers if yield >70 tiller/hill or >50qtl/acre • Publicity in new papers of outstanding farmers

Top Level Monitoring • Monitoring by Agriculture Cabinet of 18 line departments.(Quarterly/ Half Yearly) is done. • Ensuring monthly Agriculture Road Map coordination meeting under Chief Secretary with 18 departments. • Ensuring weekly review of performance indicators with Collectors through Video Conference by Chief Secretary. • Ensuring weekly review by Collectors in Agriculture Task Force meeting at district level.

Repeating Success Strategy(Sum Up) • First thing first- Advanceplanning and timely implementation • Positioning of inputs as per timeline • Focus on the vital few (SRI, Hybrid, Line Sowing …..) • Team work (Farmers/Scientist/Extension workers/Public Representatives) ensured. • Women farmers as change agents is key to success. • Close monitoring at the highest level.

  27. Issues Seed subsidy should increase. Improvement in dibbler / power dibbler for encouraging cultivation through SWI in large scale Establishment of FMTTI Branch in Bihar. Central intervention in Promoting Farm Machinery Manufacturing Units. First release be made in April and Second in September to effectively implement Kharif & Rabi Programme. Allocation of Central schemes not been communicated early, which impedes advance planning. Timely & regular supply of fertilizers.
