Distribution of Seed • Variety-wise tie up arrangement made with seed supplying agencies • seed supplying agencies identified for seed distribution on subsidy. • Arrangement made for distribution of foundation seed of Wheat, Lentil and Gram under MukhyamantriTibraBeejVistarKaryakram (Seed Crash Programme). • Beneficiaries identified for foundation seed distribution. • Seed will be distributed in UpadanMela at block & district level in 3rd week of October 2010.

  23. Fertilizer Availability in Kharif 2010 • State faced shortage of Urea in the month of August. • NFL,TCL, Chambal, Coromandel & Nagarjuna supplied less urea against allocation in August.

  24. Fertilizer in Rabi 2010-11 • Draft ECA allocation for Urea is given only 6.17 lakh MT. • The allocation should be enhanced or confirmed • Supply plan should be given to companies for Imported/Deregulated Urea. Continued....

  25. Issues on fertilizers No fertilizer production unit in the State –100% of urea requirement to be met through ECA allocation. No State Fertilizer Agency in the State - manufacturers/importers may be requested to ensure supply as per supply plan Rake point restriction and non-availability of rail rakes at production Units/ Ports during peak period - GOI should ensure availability of Rakes. Subsidy claims of all P & K suppliers are regularized and also fed in FMS of DOF, GOI - Suppliers to submit Form A & C on time Continued....

Response of RKVY in Bihar • SRR in Rice increased from 11% in 2005-06 to 26% in 2009-10. • SRR in Wheat increased from 10% in 2005-06 to 25% in 2009-10. • Decrease in acreage of Paddy by 0.43% - but increase in production by 22% in 2008. • Introduction of agriculture mechanization to boost the production. • Implementation of Rain-fed Farming. • Agriculture Extension to Farmers through FFS .
