2. The Carnival in Venice... (1) With a history that goes back centuries, and payments derived from the Roman Saturnalia and the Greek Dionysian festivals, the Carnival of Venice is not unjustly considered one of the longest in the world. The first historical record of the place in 1268, a number of scholars, however, place the opening of several earlier, in 1094, when the doge was first granted permission for a celebration "in honor and glory of souls."

3. (…) (2) The story is not long, however, the only key difference from the other carnivals in the world. The special costumes, typical Venetian masks made here and elsewhere by craftsmen who take pride in that art passes unchanged from generation to generation and direct reports in the Italian Renaissance and the Comedia dell Arte are the elements that give it its unique character and make it stand out as the most authentic and less "alothen" from outside influences and globalized trends.

(…) (3) Harlequin, doges, kontesines, Dominica, satyrs, barons, marquis, Casanova dressed in traditional Venetian costumes meet in the streets of Venice, adding extra time feeling and air of mystery in a city that is far short of that information. Outdoor events and performances take place every day, ensuring that throughout the duration of the carnival will not be a dull moment. The prive dances in pallazzi is, of course, that steal the show and become the talk of the town every year. Invitations to participate in any of those honored from 45 to 380 euros, but the thematic evenings in palaces and atmospheric journey in time to Renaissance Italy will compensate you with above.
