GRNET – Mission Statement • Provide high-quality international and national networking services to the Greek academic & research institutions and to the public and private sector to support their research and educational activities. • Promote and disseminate the use of ICT in the public and private sector towards an eGovernment, eLearning and eBusiness environment. * GRNET is a state-owned organization under the supervision of the Ministry of Development (General Secretariat of Research & Technology).

  5. Communication & Dissemination PlanPrinciple • Communication & dissemination is NOT only a media plan, press conferences, exhibitions and advertising • Communication & dissemination is based on team work, common objectives, common perspective and cooperation

Objectives • Disseminate GRNET mission statement & role to the public • Disseminate GRNET activities to the public • Exploit services offered by the network to fulfill certain objectives (eg. higher capacity) • Establish a communication platform with the media • Exploit cooperation opportunities with the media to ensure understanding of the company’s profile • Create awareness

  7. Expected results • Strengthening GRNET’s profile • Ensuring sustainability • Dissemination of technical know-how • Motivate cooperation • Encourage e-Business practices on a national level

Internal Communication (1) • Target Groups • GRNET Board of Directors • Updated regarding GRNET activities / initiatives once a month • Meetings with GRNET executives • GRNET executives & employees • GRNET yearly meeting with the participation of all employees • Technical dept: internal meetings once a week • Project Management dept.: internal meetings once / 2 weeks • GRNET strategy team: internal meetings once/ twice a month (members: executives from all departments) • Network Operation Centers (NOCs) – Virtual NOC • Video-conferencing twice per month

  9. Internal Communication (2) • Means of communication • Mailing lists: GRNET staff, GRNET PR, GRNET technical dept., GRNET dirs, GRNET strategy, VNOC • Information flow • Daily collection of articles concerning GRNET and related activities • Distribution to GRNET staff

External Communication (1) • Target Groups • GRNET connected institutions / users • GRNET Monthly reports & newsletter • GRNET annual technical meeting (connected parties’ NOCs) • Workshops on specific technologies (e.g. IPv6) • Funding bodies: GSRT, Ministry of Development, Ministry of Economy & Finance, EC • Personal Meetings / visits to the Ministers and decision makers • Newsletters, articles to magazines and newspapers published by these bodies • Letters with information about new projects, initiatives & activities, highlighting their impact • Invitations to conferences & workshops

Other Activities • Participate in and organize conferences & workshops to present & promote new activities • Participate in exhibitions (Thessaloniki International Trade Fair, INFOSYSTEM, COMDEX) • Create and maintain communication infrastructure (WWW sites) • Dissemination Material: logos, folders, brochures, CDs, video, bags, writing pads, calendar, Christmas cards, business cards
