  1. Digital Teaching Philosophy Sarah Schroeder ENG 6940

  2. Apply what students use on a daily basis to classroom applications. Relative to Digital World We need to teach students how to responsibly use digital tools in the appropriate context and environments to establish effective producers and consumers for their experiences outside of the classroom settings into their adult lives.

  3. Wildflowers: Teaching Environment Symbolizes: In the digital world, everyone has potential to express their opinions and ideas in creative communication outlets. The idea of “go with the flow.” Everyone has different starting points and we grow from those different places to new heights. Visually represents the variety of students’ interests. Illustrates the variety of classroom assessments, discussions, and projects.

  4. I guide, but also follow… • Students learn to problem solve their own technology issues or gain insight from fellow classmates or a teacher. • Process to learn new technologies and teach others what we have learned. • A digital world is a collaborated world. Guidance: Found Amongstthe Group

  5. Integrated Language Arts is…ReadingWritingSpeakingListeningViewingand Visually Representing So as a teacher of the integrated language arts classroom, I need and want to embrace different faucets of digital and technical writing that embrace all areas of the curriculum and enable students to use resources that will enhance their learning experience and opportunities in and out of the classroom.

  6. Embrace the Possibilities… Digital writing engages students with ‘something different.’ I think it allows a teacher to give even more options for a student to show how or what he or she has learned from a particular unit in their own unique way. I believe digital writing can reach, inspireand successfully challenge a struggling writer, advanced writer or an unmotivated or uninterested writer.

  7. The overwhelming fact is that technology encourages more students to be more involved and they see some real life connections to the English classroom.
