  2. Reconstructionism • I believe that schools should take the lead in the reconstruction of society.

  3. Perennialism • I believe that student should acquire knowledge about the great ideas of Western culture.

  4. Existentialism • I believe that each person must define him or herself through choices in life.

  5. Progressivism • I believe that because society is changing, new ideas are important to make the future better than the past.

  6. Behaviorism • I believe the role of the teacher is to identify goals and establish reinforces to achieve goals.

  7. Essentialism • I believe that students should be taught discipline, hard work , and respect for authority.

  8. Conclusion • I can see how each teaching philosophy is an important asset to our educational system. I believe that there is a time and a place for each one, and I will do my best to choose when the time comes.
