  2. The Lesson Would Be… • The group that this lesson would be planned for is my sixth grade art class. I will begin the lesson by showing them six different great works of art that all have one thing in common: the same type of artwork. • I want the students to be able to pick out what the artist was trying to portray, how they enveloped that idea and most importantly what all of the images have in common. • ABCD FORMAT: After being shown a Power Point presentation on the Smart Board, the sixth grade art class will be able to distinguish what expressionism is with an 85% accuracy.

  9. In the End… • My students would eventually pick up on the fact that all of these pieces of artwork were types of expressionistic paintings. They would realize that expressionistic artwork can be very different as long as it creates a feeling in the viewer. They would also learn how to analyze artists choices which would in-turn help them make their own decisions for their own original artwork in the future. • I would use a Smart Board to display this Power Point to my class. I would let students take turns by coming up to the board and circling the important factors of each of the paintings. Then I would get the students to create their own expressionism paintings by using lines, colors, and feelings to create an expression.
