  2. Morals: • Principles of right and wrong behaviors

  3. Christian morality is based on God’s standard (the Bible) of what is right and what is wrong.

  4. God promised to bless a people or nation that will follow Him.

  5. “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord…” • Ps 33:12

  6. “A nation without God’s guidance is a nation without order. Happy are those who keep God’s law.” • Prov 29:18

  7. “When there is moral rot within a nation, its government topples easily…” • Prov 28:2

  8. “Righteousness exalts a nation…” • Prov 14:34

  9. Deut 28:1-2 “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the world. 2 You will experience all these blessings if you obey the Lord your God.”

  10. Morality comes from a spiritual foundation.

  11. “How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word.I have tried hard to find you -don’t let me wander from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.” • Psalms 119:9-11

  12. “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”II Cor 5:17

  13. “And I will give them singleness of heart and put a new spirit within them. I will take away their stony, stubborn heart and give them a tender, responsive heart, so they will obey my decrees and regulations. Then they will truly be my people, and I will be their God.” Ezekiel 11:19-20

  14. America has formed its government and its governing policies upon Christian and Jewish morality.

  15. They believed in a creator

  16. They believed God created them in His own image.

  17. They believed in supernatural acts of God to give life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.

  18. The First Amendment states: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.”

  19. The evidence of our Founding Fathers were followers of God.

  20. America is forsaking its moral and spiritual roots and without them she will decay slowly from within.

  21. “When the foundations are destroyed what can the righteous do…?” • Ps 11:3

  22. Application: • What must American Do?

  23. “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” II Chron 7:14
