  3. 2. Sectionals • Dante’s Lust • Sins of weakness, harmful things we do to ourselves • Show Choir • Dividing into sections to work out notes and rhythms • Not practicing enough as a group

  4. 3.Time • Dante’s Glutton • Overindulgence in food, drink, and addictions • Show Choir • Giving of our time • Splitting time with other activities • Retreats

  5. 4. Sound • Dante’s Greed • Those who hoarded possessions, and squandered them • Show Choir • we constantly work to perfect a better sound • Tall vowels • “The lips, the teeth, the tip of the tongue” • diction

  6. 5. Judging • Dante’s Wrath • Sins of malice, actions toward others • Show Choir • At competitions, we are judged on our show • Then we are given critiques on how to improve the show

  7. 6. Competitions • Dante’s Heretics • Violent and malicious sins • Show Choir • Spending all of our Saturdays at competitions • Money for food • Early mornings and late nights • All for 15 minutes on stage

  8. 7. Choreography • Dante’s Violence • Against people and property, self, or God • Show Choir • All day retreats • Choreographer MIA • Exhausted and sore • Poor attitudes

  9. 8. Focus (or lack thereof) • Dante’s Fraudulence • Those guilty of deliberate, knowing evil • Show Choir Fraudulence • Not listening to or respecting directors and section leaders • Not stayed focused on the task at hand

  10. 9. Cleaning • Dante’s Treachery • Betrayal of a special relationship • Show Choir Treachery • During the time leading up to competitions • Making sure every move and note is perfected • Spending endless rehearsals on cleaning one song
