Program content • Selected students are guided through • The community college experience, • The University application and admissions process, • Research and pre-graduate opportunities and • career exploration. • The programs focus on these processes from • social justice and • educational equity perspective.

  20. Scholars Program: Summer Programs choices

  21. Peer mentoring • Peer Mentors are current UCLA students who have transferred successfully from a community college. • Peer Mentors help others discover the potential within themselves to succeed in the university and in life; transfer brokers. • Meet with CCCP Scholars once a month • In person, by phone, skype or best means to connect for at least 30 minutes each month • Meetings take place starting in October through May.

SITE+ • SUMMER INTENSIVE TRANSFER EXPERIENCE PLUS (SITE+)Six-week commuter program; students complete a UCLA summer sessions course, and receive individual advising on the UC application and personal insight questions. Introduction to research, university writing and support programs. Must participate in activities on Tues. and Thurs. from 2-6PM, and Orientation • Program dates: June 24– August 2, 2019 • Application deadline: April 1 • GPA: 3.0+ -UNITS: 30+ Transferable Units • English Composition completed • Complete transferable math by Spring 2020 • Additional fourth essay • Transferring Fall 2020

Foster Youth SITE • FOSTER YOUTH SUMMER INTENSIVE TRANSFER EXPERIENCE (FY SITE) One-day residential program; students learn to navigate the community college system to transfer successfully to the University of California. Introduction to research, university writing and support programs. Focus on the history, educational pipeline and resources available to current and former foster youth. • Program dates: July 12, 2019 • Application deadline: May 1st Open to students who have completed at least 1 semester or have 12 units of transferrable course work. · Priority for ELAC, LAPC, LAVC & PCC students

Parenting Student SITE • PARENTING STUDENT SUMMER INTENSIVE TRANSFER EXPERIENCE (PS SITE) Three-day residential program; students learn to navigate the community college system to transfer successfully to the University of California. Introduction to research, university writing and support programs. Focus on the history, educational pipeline and resources available to Parenting students. • Program dates: July 19 – July 21, 2019 • Application deadline: May 1st Open to students who have completed at least 1 semester or have 12 units of transferrable course work. · Priority for ELAC, LAPC, LAVC & PCC students

Native & Pacific Islander SITE • NATIVE & PACIFIC ISLANDER SITE (NPI SITE)Five-day residential program; students learn to navigate the community college system to transfer successfully to the University of California. Introduction to research, university writing and support programs. Focus on the history, educational pipeline and resources available to Native American and Pacific Islander students. • Program dates: July 7 – July 11, 2019 • Application deadline: May 1st Open to high school seniors planning to enroll at a community college in Fall 2018 AND continuing community college students. · Additional fourth essay

Focus on the history, educational pipeline and resources available to Undocumented students. • Program Date: July 21 – July 25, 2019 • Application deadline: May 1st Open to high school seniors planning to enroll at a community college in Fall 2019 and continuing community college students.

Introduction to research, university writing and support programs. • Program Date: July 28 – August 14, 2019 • Application deadline: May 1st GPA: 3.0+ UNITS: 30+ Transferable Units · English Composition completed · Complete transferable Math by Spring 2020 · Only open to ELAC students · Transferring Fall 2020

Introduction to research, university writing and support programs. • Program dates: Session 1 – August 17 or • Session 2 – August 24, 2019 • Application deadline: May 1st Open to high school seniors planning to enroll at a community college in Fall 2019 and continuing community college students.
