  2. Structure and description • The lymphatic system has a lot of specialized structures • Lymph is the substance that the lymphatic system goes around • A lot of lymph vessels, lymphatic tissue, and lymph nodes make the system

  4. Problems • If not working, fluids build up in the tissue and causes swelling and can also have infections, blockage and cancer.

  5. 5 facts • The lymphatic system returns about 3.17 quarts (3 liters) of fluid each day from the tissues to the circulatory system. • The lymphatic system is made up of lymph vessels that carry lymph • There are over 100 lymph nodes throughout the body, with the majority of them being located in the neck, groin and armpits.

  7. How to take care of it • To help your lymphatic system eat foods that give you good blood vessel walls • Eat stuff like salmon, herring, tuna, mackerel, fruit, veggies, and 48 grams of whole grain.

  8. Basically what it does • The lymphatic system has immune cells that destroy bacteria and viruses • It helps the immune system by filtering waste

  9. What it also does • It helps the circulatory system to deliver nutrients, oxygen, and hormones to make tissue for the body • It is important because it helps filter organisms and without it you can get diseases
