This presentation explores the transformative influence of Charles Grandison Finney and the Second Great Awakening on American religious life. Finney, a prominent preacher, inspired deep emotional faith and rejected traditional Calvinist views, fostering a wave of social activism, particularly in New England. The awakening also significantly affected enslaved African Americans, who embraced Christianity as a promise of freedom. Despite segregation in worship spaces, the shared belief in one God transcended racial divides, marking a poignant chapter in the struggle for spiritual and social equality.
