  1. The Woodcutter คนตัดไม้

  2. Once upon a time, there was a very strong woodcutter. He asked for a job from a timber merchant, and he got it. กาลครั้งหนึ่ง มีคนตัดไม้ที่เก่งมากคนหนึ่ง ซึ่งได้ทำงานกับพ่อค้าไม้

  3. The pay was really good and so were the work conditions. For that reason the woodcutter was determined to do his best. เนื่องจากพ่อค้าให้ผลตอบแทนและสภาพการทำงานที่ดีให้แก่เขา ดังนั้น คนตัดไม้จึงตั้งใจแน่วแน่ที่จะทำงานของเขาให้ดีที่สุด

  4. His boss gave him an axe and showed him the area where he was supposed to work. เจ้านายได้ให้ขวานและบอกให้เขาไปตัดไม้ในพื้นที่ที่กำหนดให้

  5. The first day, the woodcutter brought down 18 trees. ในวันแรกคนตัดไม้ สามารถตัดไม้ได้ถึง 18 ต้น

  6. The Boss was very much impressed and said, "Congratulations keep it up!" เจ้านายประทับใจในตัวเขามาก และกล่าวชมเขา “ดีมาก ทำงานให้ดีต่อไปน่ะ”

  10. He went to the boss and apologized, saying that he could not understand what was going on. เขาจึงไปหาเจ้านายของเขาเพื่อขอโทษ และบอกกับเจ้านายว่า เขาไม่เข้าใจว่าทำไมผลลัพธ์มันจึงเป็นเช่นนี้

  11. "When was the last time you sharpened your Axe?" the boss asked. เจ้านายจึงถามเขาว่า “ เธอได้ลับขวานครั้งสุดท้ายเมื่อไหร่?”

  14. Our lives are like that. We sometimes get so busy that we don't take time to sharpen the axe. ชีวิตของพวกเราก็เช่นกัน บางครั้งเรายุ่งเสียจนไม่มีเวลาจะลับขวานให้คมอยู่เสมอ

  15. In today's world, it seems that everyone is busier than ever, but less happy than ever. Why is that? ในโลกทุกวันนี้ดูเหมือนทุกคนจะยุ่งมากขึ้นแต่กลับมีความสุขน้อยลงกว่าเคย ทำไมจึงเป็นเช่นนั้น?

  16. Could it be that we have forgotten how to stay sharp? เป็นไปได้หรือเปล่าที่ว่า พวกเราลืมที่จะมีชีวิตอยู่อย่างชาญฉลาดที่จะลับชีวิตของเราให้คม

  17. There is nothing wrong with activity and hard work. มันไม่ผิดที่เราจะทำงานหนัก

  18. But we should not get so busy that we neglect the truly important things in life, like our personal life, taking time to care for others, taking time to read, etc. แต่เราไม่ควรวุ่นวายจนละเลยสิ่งที่สำคัญในชีวิต เช่น ชีวิตส่วนตัว การเอาใจใส่ผู้อื่น การให้เวลากับการอ่าหนังสือ และอื่นๆ

  21. To stay competence is as importantas your life and it is your responsibility to do so.
