Increase Professional Training • Helder Neto – Technical Institute • Medium Level Training (12y of schoolarity) • Fishing processing • Naval engine • Fisheries biology and oceanography • Computers Needs: Training for trainers Technical assistence Improving the management skills Introduction of marine biology, fisheries management and coastal zone management courses • Support to open the technikon on marine biology in Namibe ( technical assistence)

Increase Professional Training • IIM • Two groups established • Stock assessment group • Biology and dynamic of commercial species (Sampling programme) • Oceanography Labs: Chemistry, Biology and Physical • Namibe Lab. • Aquaculture • Fishing processing:Chemistry and microbiology labs for quality control

Increase Professional Training • Needs: • Intermediate and advanced stock assessment courses • Survey design • Acoustic techniques • Training for technicians (chemistry, microbiology, biology, biochemistry • Statistics • Fish processing technology • Computer programming course • Fishing gear • Data base management • Technical training on chromatograph and spectro-chromatograph

Increase Professional Training • IPA – Promotes and regulates artisanal fisheries • Control of the fishing communities • Collect of artisanal fisheries statistics • Artfish – Data Base Needs: Training on community development and co-management Development of business skills in the communities Training on responsible fisheries Marine on coastal resource management Statistics

  12. Promote On Job Training at different levels • Encourage the partnership within BENIFIT and BCLME programme among the Institutions in the region • Establishment of libraries networking within region • Short term technical asssistence in specific fields General needs: English and IT training
