  2. Point of presence (POP) • Point of presence (pop) is when 2 or more different networks build a connection with each other. Point of interest may include a meet me room.

  3. Networks access point (NAP) A Network Access Point (NAP) was a public network exchange facility where Internet service providers (ISPs) connected with one another in peering arrangements Adam Williamson

  4. Internet protocol (IP) • A set of rules governing the format of data sent over the internet or another network. • “IP” means internet protocol and or intellectual property. • An IP address is a numerical identifier for a computer or a device that is participating in a computers network.

  5. Transmission control protocol (TCP) • Transmission control protocol is a organiser and web server. It organises emails and files before it send them to the user. It is the rule to use to send data in a form of a message. If too many people are using a network, then it will , overload. TCP helps to make sure that it will not overload by organising the files and massages as it sends them.

  6. File transfer protocol (FTP) • FTP is a network protocol used to transfer files over a TCP network like the Internet. You can use a web browser like internet explorer to access a FTP network. You can use FTP to upload pictures on to photo sharing websites and to build you own websites.

  7. Internet service provider (ISP) • Internet service provider are the company that provides you with the internet like Talk- Talk, Sky, BT and Orange. You have to pay a monthly fee and you get the internet and landline and a modem which means you can access the internet to send emails.

  8. (ISP) service's • The ISP services are extra things that you get from the internet service provider like BT Sport TV or Virgin Media or Wi-Fi when you go out and things like Dongles- which is like a thing that you put into your phone to get Wi-Fi.
