  3. Bar Graphs • Questions: • What was the total number of pupils In the class? • What number of pupils liked Plain and Salt and vinegar crisps?

  5. Line Graphs • Questions: • What happens to the temperature as the time increase? • What is the total increase in temperature? • What are the units of temperature?

  6. Averages Example: • The height of 5 pupils in a class were as follows; 170cm, 165cm, 160cm, 155cm, 178cm. What was the average height of the class? Step 1. Add 170+165+160+155+178=828 Step 2. Divide by the number of pupils 828 /5 = 165.6cm

  7. Averages Try these averages by yourself: • What is the average shoe size of these 7 pupils? 8, 9, 6,5 ,4,8, 7 2. What is the average height Of a sunflower?

  8. Reading passages Biofuels are fuels produced from organic matter. Some sugar plants are grown to make alcohol as a fuel for cars other biofuels are obtained from animal waste. This is broken down by bacteria to form an energy rich gas which can be burned in furnaces or in engines. A number of companies use this gas to produce electricity for the national grid. • What is this passage mainly about? • Name the biofuel produced from sugar cane. • What is a use for biofuel from animal waste?
