Organizational Patterns • There are many different ways to organize your writing. • We will focus on: • Compare and Contrast- identify the similarities and differences between two or three topics • Problem and Solution- state a problem and suggest one or more solutions • Chronological order- in order of time • Logical Order- in the order that makes sense logically • Cause and Effect- identify the cause for something and what happened as a result

16. Chronological Order Topic Examples • Describe your morning routine. What do you do before you go to school each day? • Discuss the events leading up to the American Revolutionary War. • Explain the process that candidates go through in order to run for president.
