  1. Tri-operation Mode AER Retina December 2012 Juan A. Leñero

  2. Sensor Features • 3 operations modes: Spatial Contrast Magnitude, Intensity, and TFS (Combinedwiththeothers). • First event-based retina computing spatial contrast and 2 other modes. • Pixelcomplexity: 42 transistors+2caps (includingarbitration)

  3. PrincipleofOperation: Contrast Magnitude Eachpixelphotocurrent is compared to itsneighbours. If it is higherthantheneighboursaveragevalue, thepixelwill be able to spike. Pi,j =max (0, Ii,j-(Ii+1,j+Ii-1,j+II,J+1+II,J-1)/4)

  4. AlgorithmSimulations (I)

  5. AlgorithmSimulations (II)

  6. Schematics: Contrast Magnitude

  7. Schematics: Octopus Mode Weset: Vincr=Vdcr=0V

  8. TFS MODE

  9. Simulations: Contrast Magnitude (I)

  10. Simulations: Contrast Magnitude (II)

  11. Simulations: Intensity Mode
