  3. ENB Item 1: Team Formation Ref1: http://www1.umn.edu/ohr/toolkit/workgroup/forming/rules/index.html Ref2: http://www1.umn.edu/ohr/toolkit/workgroup/index.html Ref3: http://www.mindtools.com/pages/article/newLDR_86.htm Ancillary Tasks Diversity and Demographics Team ICE List Transportation Plan

  4. ENB Item 2: The Workspace Safety Considerations are Paramount Environmental Factors Accessibility Tools and Tool Storage Tool Safety Procedures First Aid Tools to be used: Power and Hand Tools, 3D printers, CNC Router/Mill/Lathe and software

  5. ENB Item 3: EDP Step 1: Design Specification (i.eWhat the Bot must doby Task Breakdown and Description for starters) a. Task Specification Load each 19 Dram container one at a time in sequence onto the Robot at Supplier loading docks. Repeat loading process for next for specified time for loading. Transport 19D supplies to Processing Vats within allotted transport time and taking into account traffic light timing. Unload 19 D supplies into the processing vats in required sequence (1 fruit , 1milk and 1 culture)within allotted time. Load 60 Dram containers on to the Robot within allotted time Transport 60 dram containers to Stores taking into accounting for traffic light timing in allotted time. f. Unload 60 dram containers at stores in specified sequence within allotted time. b. Task Specification Constraints Tasks must be completed in (4) (3) Minute Rounds Each Pick and Place Container operation should take not more than (5) seconds to complete on average Robot should be able to move at 1’/sec

  6. ENB Item 4: EDP Step 2: Design Development • a. Design Constraints (20s, Budget, Timeline, Safety) • b. Define Alternatives for DIY Robot Subsystem Components • Gripper/Electromagnet ( End Effector) • XYZ Gantry or Arm (Manipulator) • Chassis and Transport Bay (Pedestal) • Motion/Propulsion Systems • Power Distribution • Control System • Sensors • c. Preliminary Design Calculations (Torque, Speed and Stability) • ( Workshop 9-27-14) • d. Fabrication Considerations (What can we CNC and what can we manually machine)

  7. ENB Item 5: EDP Step 3: Design Drawings A Complete Package of One or More Drawings to be used in the fabrication of the following: Gripper/Electromagnet ( End Effector) XYZ Gantry or Arm (Manipulator) Chassis and Transport Bay ( Pedestal) Motion/Propulsion Systems Wire Management and Support Control System and I/O Physical Wiring Riser Need: An exploded view of all robot parts with each part tagged and tied to a Bill of Materials Need : Fabrication Steps/Drawings /Procedures for CNC Recommend: #8-32 and #6-32 Screws, Nylon Insert Lock Nuts and Washers

  8. ENB Item 6: EDP Step 4. Prototype Fabrication Drawing Review Work Assignments Work Schedule Materials Acquisition Manual and CNC Fabrication Procedures Safety Review of Fabrication Procedures Code Preparation and Testing

  9. ENB Item 7: Step 5 Testing Test throughout design and implementation Test components separately and then together as an integrated system functions Testing to verify meeting of timing and speed specifications (Excel Storage) Ensure all Bot Systems are “user proof” (test all external conditions/events) Develop a Bot Testing Plan early in the Design Development stage Consider additional Code for controlled semi-autonomous (button triggered) movements Listen for and watch for abrupt or jerky movements or oscillatory movement STAR Work Principle: Stop, Think , Act, Review Continuously Inspect wiring and mechanical connections

  10. ENB Item 8. EDP Step 6 Game Strategy Training Figure out task logistics and timing. Train drivers , Spotters and Mechanics Establish Performance Capabilities for Drivers and Machine

  11. ENB Item 9:Production and Profit Forecast . Using timing data establish round by round production and profit forecasts. Optimize!

  12. ENB Item 10 . Company Software Tools (Resources):  Project Management Software: (DotProject, MS Project or Excel) for Venders, Suppliers, Consultants, Employees, project Time lines, Document Management, Inventory, Requisitions, Ticketing System etc 3D CAD Modeling :If you are making a product you need drawings. Need design development tools (Solid Works) Social Media Communications: with the Team, Family and Friends ,General Public , Teachers…..FB or Website
