  2. The Discrimination Case • When the white Dutch settlers arrived to South Africa, they believed strongly that it was given can chosen by gods. Black native people who were already living there was often treated as a slave. Since the Dutch people had more fire-power and very well armed than blacks, they forced to rule the South Africa.

  3. Boers • They are highly religious and used to follow their gods. Boers believed that South Africa was gift for them to conquer and rule the country. Since there was some people who were native people living in South Africa, Boers started discrimination against blacks.

  4. Boers – Well Armed • They were very well armed than blacks. They won over the land after the war between whites and blacks. • Boers often used and treated blacks as a personal slaves. They put them self to the top and lowered blacks to bottom, just like hierarchy.

  5. Black Native People • They are the group of native tribes who were living in South Africa before the Boers came. Because of that, they had strong feeling about taking their country back from the whites. • They are marked as the slave or inhuman. They were treated unfairly during Apartheid.

  6. Discrimination • Discrimination is the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people or things on the grounds of race, age, or sex. During the Apartheid, white discriminated against blacks by making and following the Apartheid law.

  7. Racism Escalation Anti-Locution -> Avoidance -> Discrimination -> Violence -> Genocide • Blacks where often treated differently than other whites.

  8. Apartheid Law: It limits blacks freedom to have intercourse with whites or to have rights to learn and experience. • Name Calling: Mostly white police or peri-urban police used to call black people “kaffir”, which means slave. • Violence: Whites punish blacks by beating them, arresting them, or killing them.

  9. Cause • Media: Like offensive advertisement spreading through the internet, medias can spread how one group generally thinks about other group. • Surroundings: Their parents, teachers, or friends can be the one who teaches people or tell other people about different races. • Power: People who have powers can control other people and brain wash other people.

  10. Historical Causes • During Apartheid, blacks are often treated in hard way. They didn’t had choice. The Boers gained control to be able to rule South Africa and people live in there. • Boers think blacks are useless or less than themselvesjust because they look different and they act different than them.

  11. Effects • Blacks property, education, freedom, career, health had been controlled during Apartheid. Whites stole blacks’ country, their rights to learn, their rights to feel freedom, arrest their career, and physically hurt them. • These often causes conflict between white and black.

  12. Solutions • Blacks and white working together to make South Africa free from whites was effective. Some whites supported blacks to be able to be free. • Also people, like Nelson Mandela or Martin Luther King Jr., confronted to white’s government to solve and free the South Africa.
