2. 1914 pre-war • Germany had promised Austria, that if they made a move against Yugoslavia, that they would defend them from Russia. • Germany then told Austria to start the war and if it evolved into a larger conflict, that they would support them.

3. 1914 pre-war • Germany had many reasons for wanting this war, one of those reasons was that the assassination of Francis Ferdinand and his wife was an example of Hapsburg’s loss of control. • And if Austria were to decline Germany’s offer they would be surrounded by enemy forces.

4. A state of Imminent war danger • Germany in order to prevent England from entering the War, made it seem as though it was Russia that had started the war. • They also announced that any conflict between Austria and Serbia was a local conflict and that any outside powers should not interfere.

5. July 31st 1914 • Germany’s Military leader (Moltake) Announced that Russia Had 12 hours to demobilize, the short deadline just proved that Germany was just itching for a war. • Naturally Russia declined and Germany used this as their reason for declaring war on Russia.

6. August 3rd 1914 –world war 1 begins • World war 1 officially began on August 3rd 1914 when Germany declared war on France, claiming that they had invaded German Territory.

7. Germany makes a treaty with Bolsheviks. • The German people had begun to lose faith in the war at this point. • On March 3rd 1918, Germany signs a treaty with Russia, then despite the treaty’s Germany marches straight into Russia and causes them to surrender.

8. The German army is defeated • By the summer of 1918,
