  5. Our Classroom • Safety is the #1 Rule! • If you ever feel that your child is not comfortable, safe, challenged, encouraged, or respected please let me know as soon as possible so I can help.

OLWEUS Anti-Bullying Program • District-Wide Initiative to prevent and react to bullying situations at school. • Class meetings held weekly to discuss bullying issues as well as to instruct students in handling situations of bullying • School-wide Incident Reporting Form will be used to record and report any instances of bullying that occur

  7. Our Schedule • 8:40 – Enter Classroom, Unpack • 8:55 – Olweus / Read aloud • 9:15 - Math • 10:30 – Core Extension • 11:15 – Lunch / Recess • 12:00 – Specials • 12:45 – Science / Social Studies • 1:45 – Language Arts • Writing, Reading, Spelling, • Wordly Wise, Grammar • 3:35 – Dismissal

  9. Grades • Effort is the most important part • Grades give us feedback on understanding, not intelligence • Study Skills • Group and partner work is encouraged! • Family collaboration on projects is always welcome. • Participation

  13. Warm Fuzzies! • The most important project! • Shhhhhhh! They’re a secret! • YellowFolder with another child’s “All About Me” Packet • Write a letter to let that person know how great they are and how much you enjoy being in their class. • Make something special to give to your Warm Fuzzy. • A collage, painting, sculpture, poem, song, etc.
