MIDDLE EAST LOGISTICS AND BASE SUPPORT SERVICES BACKGROUND OVERVIEW Objectives of the Proposed RFT • Establish a fully operational, competitively tendered, value for money, logistic and base support contract for ADF elements within specified areas of the Middle East • Engage a single prime contractor. Aim • Deliver effective logistic support services to the ADF in specified areas. • Optimise the logistics system by consolidating services and increasing the flexibility of employment of military personnel. • Contract out support services, where cost effective and appropriate.

MIDDLE EAST LOGISTICS AND BASE SUPPORT SERVICES BACKGROUND OVERVIEW Current • Rationalised locations – operate, in most, from Al Minhad Air Base, UAE • Support to ADF activities under various operations required. • Various civilian contractors are contracted to support these operations. • Contract JCCC 023 - Logistic and Base Support Services for Operation Slipper provided by Seven Seas Ship Chandlers. • Contract JCCC027- Provision of Domestic Services is provided by Inchcape Shipping Services.

MIDDLE EAST LOGISTICS AND BASE SUPPORT SERVICES BACKGROUND OVERVIEW Future • Single Prime Contractor responsible for the provision of a range of logistic and base support services. • Flexible contracting arrangement with capacity to: • turn on/off services as required. • turn on/off designated locations as required.

MIDDLE EAST LOGISTICS AND BASE SUPPORT SERVICES BACKGROUND OVERVIEW ADF Intent • Maintain continuity of supply of services. • Consolidate a number of contracts and standing offers. • Seek a single prime contractor for support services in the region. • Contract term yet to be confirmed. Likely 2 years with options to extend. • Flexibility to cater for change in circumstances and requirements • Deliver Value for Money Outcomes. • Commercially focussed while consistent with Defence policy.
