  • 8,000 square miles of coverage w/100K POPs in rural Texas
  • Mid-Tex wanted to economically upgrade their cellular system from analog to digital
  • Long distances between cell sites makes site visits very costly
  • Needed a technology that could accommodate multiple standards to increase their roaming revenues

  • Cost-effectively migrate existing analog subscribers to GSM while providing a migration path to CDMA & other future standards
