Conflict/Problem • He had an alcohol addiction • Everything began to get on his nerves • He did not touch his cat, due to the amount of affection it would give him • He cut the cat’s eye out with a pen knife • The cat inflicted a wound on Edgar’s hand which then made Edgar kill the cat • He felt slight remorse for what he did, but then continued to drink more alcohol
Rising tension • He hung his cat • His house caught on fire and burned down • Outline of his cat on the wall • He was haunted by his cat 4 nights after he killed it • He murders his wife because she tried stopping him from killing the cat • He finds another cat which is slightly identical to the one he killed. Except it had a white patch on its breast • At first he was affectionate towards it. But then grew hatred because this cat had a missing eye too. Came close to killing it
Climax • He hides his wife’s dead corpse in the wall • The police are suspicious, search around • Edgar becomes cocky and talks about how well the walls were built • He gets a cane and taps it on the wall where his wife was buried in • A scream is let out from inside the wall
Conclusion • The cat is inside the wall on top of the wife’s head in the wall
