  2. Chron- Time • chronometer-an instrument for measuring time, esp. one designed to keep accurate time in spite of motion or variations in temperature, humidity, and air pressure. Chronometers were first developed for marine navigation, being used in conjunction with astronomical observation to determine longitude.

  3. Chron- Time • contemporary-living or occurring at the same time • chronicles-a factual written account of important or historical events in the order of their occurrence.

  4. Chron- Time • contemporary-living or occurring at the same time • chronic-persisting for a long time or constantly recurring • synchronize-cause to occur or operate at the same time or rate

  5. Temp- Time • temperament-a person's or animal's nature, esp. as it permanently affects their behavior • temperature-the degree or intensity of heat present in a substance or object, esp. as expressed according to a comparative scale and shown by a thermometer or perceived by touch. • templar-a member of the Knights Templars.

  6. Temp- Time • tempest-a violent windy storm. • tempo- Music the speed at which a passage of music is or should be played.

  7. Prim- first • principle-a fundamental truth or proposition that serves as the foundation for a system of belief or behavior or for a chain of reasoning • prime-of first importance; main • prime minister-the head of an elected government; the principal minister of a sovereign or state.

  9. Sec- second • secondary-coming after, less important than, or resulting from someone or something else that is primary • sector-an area or portion that is distinct from others • secular-denoting attitudes, activities, or other things that have no religious or spiritual basis

  10. Sec- second • segment-each of the parts into which something is or may be divided • section-any of the more or less distinct parts into which something is or may be divided or from which it is made up

  11. Ult-Ultima-last/final • ultimate-being or happening at the end of a process; final : • ulterior- existing beyond what is obvious or admitted; intentionally hidden

  12. Ult-Ultima-last/final • ultraviolet- (of electromagnetic radiation) having a wavelength shorter than that of the violet end of the visible spectrum but longer than that of X-rays. • ultimatum- a final demand or statement of terms, the rejection of which will result in retaliation or a breakdown in relations
