Thurrock Primary Schools are participating in the Beat the Street walking and cycling game from June 11th to July 22nd, 2014. The aim is to walk around the world by tapping key fobs on Beat Boxes placed around Thurrock. Collect points to win prizes for your school team and help reach the 25,000-mile goal. Stay safe while playing and encourage friends and family to join. No cheating allowed!

Thurrock Primary Schools will take part in a fun walking and cycling game. Beat the Street starts 11th June and finishes 22nd July 2014. Aim of the game is to walk around the world! Your school is going to play. If you collect the most points together you win the game!
How to Play Your school will give you a key fob. Tap the key fob against a special ‘Beat Box’ placed on lamp posts all over Thurrock. Tap more than one beat box within an hour toplay the game.
Each tap adds to your and your school’s total Taps mean prizes!
Together we need to walk 25,000 miles! = the distance around the world! Visit thurrock.beatthestreet.me with your school to follow our progress.
If you tap more than 2 Beat Boxes an hour you can win a prize. Every point you collect goes to your school’s team. The schools that walk the most will win some top prizes! Every pupil who takes part will receive a certificate.
KEEP SAFE • When you’re out and about looking for Beat Boxes please keep safe. • Watch out for cars when crossing the road. • If you are on a bicycle remember to dismount • Before you tap the Beat Box. • Use crossings and don’t run across the road. • Stop, Look & Listen!
WHO ELSE CAN PLAY? • Get your friends and family to take part. • Registration cards are available • at libraries and GP practices. • They can even join your school • Team!
NO CHEATING! • If you • drive between the Beat boxes, • use someone else’s card, • stand and keep tapping the same box • Your card will be cancelled and your points will not be counted for your school.
