  1. Solar Energy Solutions & Info By Sean, Justice, ceci

  2. What Is Solar Energy? • Solar Energy is the fundamental source of energy extraction from the sun, or any given light source in which photons can be absorbed and converted to an electrical current.

  3. Why Should We Use Solar energy? • Renewable Energy Source. • Better for the Environment. • Cost Effective. • Quick and Reliable.

  4. Renewable Energy Source. • No need for dangerous, toxic burning and converting to energy. • Completely clean.

  5. Better for the Environment. • Installs leave almost zero Carbon footprint. • There is a tiny amount of maintenance involved.

  6. Cost Effective. • Installs are expensive, however; there is no monetary expense to a clean, reliable energy source

  7. Quick and Reliable. • Obviously works when there is sun, and there is usually always sun; thus, no problem at all.

  8. Background/History • 7th Century B.C.: Magnifying Glass. • 6th Century A.D.: Sunrooms. • 1767: Cooking on a Black Surface. • 1873: Selenium Conducts Heat. • 1905: Albert Einstein published his paper on the photoelectric effect. • 1959: Solar Calculators.

  9. present uses • Used In Sydney Australia for Theatre. • Phone Charging on the Go. • Mobile Watercrafts. • Camping (Food Warmer) • Pools & Aquatic Centers

  10. Future uses • Solar cars by General Motors. • Artificial Solar Trees • Solar aircrafts by Southwest. • Solar powered Cities. • Solar homes.
