  4. FOR SOLAR ENERGY 1. Less fossil fuel dependent 2. Helping the environment 3. Cutting down on carbon emissions 4. The sun doesn't “run out” 5. Can be in remote areas AGAINST SOLAR ENERGY 1. Not efficient enough 2. Expensive while value falling 3. Not producing at night 4. Weather and pollution can affect it 5. Hurts businesses to cap carbon emissions Opposing viewpoints

  5. Want to invest in the development of renewable energy and clean technologies • Helping the environment and creating jobs • Solar energy on public lands- power homes Obama/democratic position

  6. Support the production of solar power in an environmentally responsible way • Oppose cap and trade legislation • would impose a national energy tax on families and small businesses, killing jobs and raising utility prices. Republican party position

  7. Invest in new technologies to get us off foreign oil Develop alternative energy but also drill in Alaska States should have their own emissions standards MitTromney- solar/alternative energy

  8. More funding to develop domestic energy supplies Federal tax incentives for energy, with state decisions RICK PERRY- SOLAR/alternative ENERGY

  9. Stop the Environmental Protection Agency’s cap-and-trade rules Against tax incentives for renewable energy MICHELE BACHMANn SOLAR/alt. ENERG
