  1. Hephaestus: The God of Blacksmiths By Caleb Wyneken

  2. Hephaestus: The God of many different things. Hephaestus is the god of many things and is the son of Hera. Hephaestus is the god of blacksmiths, technology, craftsmen, artisans, sculptors, metals, metallurgy, fire, and volcanoes. Like other gods, Hephaestus was lame. Hephaestus served as the blacksmith of the gods and he was worshipped in the manufacturing and industrial centers of Greece.

  3. The Crippled God Hephaestus’s mother, Hera, was unhappy with Hephaestus’s appearance, one reason because he was crippled. Since Hephaestus was crippled, Hera decided to throw him off of Mount Olympus. Hephaestus fell for a long nine days and nine nights. When the falling was over and he was in the ocean, Oceanids Thetis, the mother of Achilles, and Eurynome brought him back up to Mount Olympus.

  4. The Relatives of Hephaestus Hephaestus also had some great and powerful brothers and sisters. One of the most known gods that is one of Hephaestus’s brothers is Ares, the god of war. Another notable thing is that Hephaestus’s wife is Aphrodite, the god of love. He is the son of Zeus, lord of the gods, and Hera, the goddess of motherhood, or in some accounts, Hera alone.

  5. Hephaestus’ Craftwork Creations Hephaestus has made very great things and equipment for the gods. He has made Hermes’ winged helmet and sandals and Achilles’ armor. He has also made Heracles’ bronze clappers, Helios’ chariot, and Aphrodite's famed girdle. Hephaestus also worked with the help of the chthonic Cyclopes.
