Edutainment- Mass Communication with a Purpose Year 1: in Nigeria & Bangladesh Year 2: in Afghanistan, Cambodia, Egypt, Mali, Niger, Pakistan, Rwanda, Somalia, Sudan and Vietnam Zonta funds $802K (~1/2 project total) Managed by UN Women & delivered by Oxfam Novib Working to help local organizations harness the power of the mass media to fight gender-based violence

  3. Safe Citiesfor Womenin Honduras will build on the successes of the Women in the City initiatives in Guatemala & El Salvador to help women in Nueva Suyapa& Villanueva recover public spaces for women, children & their communities. Zonta: $250K with UNWomen

  4. Empowering Women in Rural Samoa to Combat Violence Samoa Victim Support Group will deliver the project on behalf of UN Trust Fund Training village reps, Partnering with police, Conducting workshops on preventing violence @ home, Growing networks of support, Training in economic independence Zonta : $110K

  5. Elimination of MTCT of HIVin Rwandaby 2015 Support Rwandan Gov’t in forming strategy for expansion of geographically-distributed 1-stop centers. Support integration of HIV/PMTCT info into data monitoring tool, strengthening follow-up with exposed mothers & their children. Reduce incidence &lessen impact of gender-based violence. Strengthen access to comprehensive package of youth-friendly services forthe growing number of adolescents living with HIV (with a focus on young girls). Zonta : $1M, continuing this partnership with UNICEF since 2008

  6. LiberiaFistulaProgram Moving from project-based treatment to treatment integrated into the Government’s national health system. Program will be expanded to provide support to women with more chronic fistula problems. Zonta: $1M, has continued this sponsorship since 2008 in cooperation with UN Population Fund.

  7. These are targeted, monitored programs that are a great investment for your $$. These international service projects & Zonta’s scholarships are what Zonta’s all about… It’s how we ‘walk our talk’ internationally. It’s how we’re known.
