Ref. RSPM.) • 11-10-2003 - Plan submitted to EPCA headed by Shri Bhure Lal • 02-01-04 - Interaction meet by EPCA with stakeholders • 08-01-2004 - Revised Plan submitted to EPCA • February 2004 - Sub-Committee of Task Force constituted Headed by Chairman, GPCB. • 21-05-2004 - Seminar for public participation and to sensitize the citizens • 05-06-2004 - workshop for discussion of Action Plan with stake-holders • 15-07-2004 - meeting of Sub Committee to review direction with stake-holders • 25-09-04 - EPCA visit - Interaction with stack holders and review progress

ACTION PLAN GROUND COVERED • 4 Wheeler registration with Bharat Stage II compliant only (COT) • Introduction of Ethanol blend petrol and low sulfur MS(Petrol)/HSD (Oil Cos.) • Phasing out of AMTS buses(AMC) • 342 (last 4 years) and 226 (2003-04) • Surprise checking and cancellation of license of defaulting PUC centers (FCCA,COT) • Ban on heavy vehicles within AMC area (Home) • Heavy vehicles diversion - AUDA Ring Road (Home/AUDA) • Ban on diesel driven rickshaws within the city (Home) • Sale of 2T oil (Pre mix) (FC & CA & Oil Cos.) • Registration of Free Sale kerosene vendors (FC & CA) • Restriction on sale of kerosene - vicinity of petrol pumps (FC & CA)

ACTION PLAN GROUND COVERED • Implementation of transportation and distribution network for CNG (GSPC, E&P Dept./AMC/AUDA/GAEL) • Pipeline for Natural Gas supply in industrial area is going to be commissioned (GAEL) • City gate Gas station & 3 CNG station are ready for Commissioning (GAEL) • LPG outlets • Working 5 (IOC, BPC, HPC) • Planned 4 (IOC) • AAQ Monitoring Station (AMC & GIDC,GPCB) • 16 Planned by December 2004 • 07 Working • Door to Door collection of garbage (AMC, AUDA) • Ban on burning of biomass in open by AMC - planning bio composting (AMC, AUDA)

WHERE DO WE GO.. .. .. ? • Switching over to CNG/NG : (COT/GPCB) • 50,000 Vehicles • 1800 Industrial Unit • CNG Infrastructure (Auto-Gas Supply) by : (GAEL) • 15-11-2004, 3 CNG stations • 15-03-2005, 5 more • CNG stations (GAEL) • 27 retail outlet over a period of 3 years. • Transition of vehicles to CNG fuel : (AMC/GSRTC/COT) • 31-12-2004, 100 CNG buses of AMTS • 31-03-2005, 100 CNG buses of GSRTC • 31-03-2005, 5000 CNG auto-rickshaws • Policy for phasing out of 15 years old vehicles.

WHERE DO WE GO.. .. .. ? • Augmentation of public transport in the city • Submission of time bound program for augmenting commuters need to 40% • Vehicle inspection program for city fleet • 10 PUC stations, with 4-gas analyzer (for Euro II) vehicles, smoke tests for diesel vehicles and lambda tests by 31-12-2004 • Industrial Air Pollution • GPCB to submit a plan to EPCA for switch over to natural gas by highly polluting industries, by 31-12-2004,

WHERE DO WE GO.. .. .. ? • In the meeting with the Stakeholders consensus was arrived for switchover to NG as under : • FIRST PHASE (@ 350 Nos.) • Industries located in Vatva, Narol and all large Scale industries • SECOND PHASE (@ 500 Nos.) • Industries located in Odhav and Naroda GIDC, All Foundry within the city area and rest of units having High Consumption • THIRD PHASE • All remaining Units • Strategy for Expansion/ New Units • Permitted with condition to use cleaner fuel
