Vivamus rutrum ullamcorper risus. • Began Documentation in 1994 • Trialed on one unit in 1994 • Whole house documentation in 1995 • ICU’s only did med’s/IV’s and some Admission Hx • Ended Documentation in 1998 • Our documentation obscured the patient’s story • Documentation was over engineered and very cumbersome

Vivamus rutrum ullamcorper risus. • August of 2005 began designing new assessments and interventions • There were approximately 450 nursing staff to train • We had 2 training rooms with a total of 23 computers to train staff

Vivamus rutrum ullamcorper risus. • Web-based Learning Management System • Provides • on line tracking/testing • Curriculum Functions • Certification Functions • Can be accessed from home • Currently used House Wide for quarterly mandatory training • CHEX contains a learning history for each staff member

Vivamus rutrum ullamcorper risus. • We attached our 3 Captivate Training Modules to CHEX with on line tests required for each module • Each staff member was required to view the training module and complete the test • SLCH requires that all tests be passed with a100% score • A printed certificate was required to gain entrance to the 4 hour on hands training class

Vivamus rutrum ullamcorper risus. • Viewing Captivates in CHEX • Did not test viewing the training modules from CHEX on the individual devices on the units • Bottom section of the training module was not viewable • Pop up blockers prevented viewing the training modules • Caused frustration with the staff • PCIS staff had to do a lot of troubleshooting

Vivamus rutrum ullamcorper risus. • Printing Certificates from CHEX • Half the time the certificates were not printing • Instead of printing one certificate that indicated they completed all 3 courses the staff were printing 3 separate certificates • Found out after the process was implemented that this was a known printing application issue in CHEX • Required certificates for gaining entrance into the 4 hour training became an issue • Caused frustration with the staff • Held up training class because trainers had to check on line that the work was completed

Vivamus rutrum ullamcorper risus. • Staff Quickly Adapted to the New Documentation • Expected to have 24/7 support for 7 days • Only needed in house support of 5 days • Went to beeper coverage for 1 week with approx 2 calls • VP of Patient Care Services Remarks
