  1. WALT: SAY THE WORDS FOR DIFFERENT SPORTS IN FRENCH AND WHAT I THINK OF THEM. WILF: TO BE ABLE TO GIVE AN OPINION FOR LEVEL 3. TO ADD A JUSTIFICATION FOR LEVEL 4.

  2. MATCH THE VOCABULARY TO THE CORRECT PICTURE. REMEMBER, FIRSTLY LOOK FOR WORDS THAT YOU RECOGNISE, THEN WORDS THAT YOU CAN WORK OUT, AND FINALLY USE A DICTIONARY. WRITE OUT ALL THE WORDS IN YOUR BOOK IN FRENCH AND ENGLISH.

  3. DO YOU REMEMBER THESE KEY WORDS? THEY ARE “OPINION” PHRASES. WRITE THEM IN YOUR BOOKS AGAIN IF YOU HAVE FORGOTTEN. IF YOU CAN USE THESE PHRASES IN A SENTENCE, THAT MAKES LEVEL 3. FOR EXAMPLE… “J’ADORE LE FOOTBALL”

  4. WRITE A SENTENCE IN FRENCH BASED ON EACH PICTURE.

  5. MATCH THE OPINION PHRASES IN ENGLISH (RED) TO THEIR FRENCH MEANINGS. REMEMBER THE STEPS TO TAKE TO WORK THEM OUT. tiring boring energetic I love impressive I like fundangerousI hate creative I don’t like embarrassing interestingexciting I prefer awfulexpensive active passionnant = ennuyeux = dangéreux = affreux = cher = gênant = créatif = actif = fatigant = j’adore = j’aime = je n’aime pas = je déteste = je préfère = énergique = amusant = impressionnant = intéressant =

  6. COMBINING THE WORDS FROM THE PREVIOUS SLIDE TOGETHER SHOWS THAT YOU CAN USE A “JUSTIFICATION”. THIS MEANS YOU CAN ACHIEVE A LEVEL 4. THE KEY WORD FOR WRITING A “JUSTIFICATION” IS… PARCE QUE = BECAUSE EG J’AIME LE FOOTBALL PARCE QUE C’EST PASSIONNANT = I LOVE FOOTBALL BECAUSE IT IS EXCITING. EXTRA NOTE: THERE IS ALSO ANOTHER WORD FOR BECAUSE IN FRENCH WHICH IS… CAR

  7. Read the 5 sentences, and fill in the table with what each person likes and dislikes and why. • 1.

  8. WRITING WRITE SOME SENTENCES GIVING YOUR OPINIONS OF SOME SPORTS AND GIVE A REASON WHY (A JUSTIFICATION). COMBINE YOUR SENTENCES INTO A PARAGRAPH USING LINKING WORDS. HOW COULD YOU INCLUDE ANOTHER TENSE FOR LEVEL 5 OR TWO FOR LEVEL 6?
