  4. Momentum in Everyday Life • What is 5 things you think about when you hear the word momentum?

  5. Momentum and Sports • "Going into the all-star break, the Chicago White Sox have the momentum." • "Chicago Bears Gaining Momentum." • “Figure skaters use their momentum to do jumps and spins.” • What do all these phrases have in common? • Objects in Motion!!!

  6. A team that has the momentum is onthe move and is going to take some effort to stop. Momentum: refers to the quantity of motion that an object has. An object in motion ("on the move") has momentum. Momentum in Sports ** Please write this slide in your notes.

  8. Which is Harder to Stop: a heavy truck vs. a small car moving at the same speed? A massive truck rolling down a steep hill has a LARGE momentum.
