Summer Assignment Work Day and Novel Discussion

On this Independent Work Day, students will focus on their summer assignments for 5 minutes, followed by sharing their thoughts on an inspirational quote. If the summer assignment is not available, students should begin reading the assigned novel up to page 89, stopping after the line “his lips moving just a trifle.” On Wednesday, we will discuss the novel and review the study guide to address any questions. Don't forget that double-entry journals and SSR journals will be checked on 7/8.

  2. Bellwork • Respond to the quote. You have 5 minutes, then we will share.

Independent Work Day • This is your requested day to work on your summer assignments. • If you do not have your summer assignment today, then you will need to begin reading our assignment. • 7/8: up to page 89 stopping after “his lips moving just a trifle”. Set one of double entry journals due.

  4. Novel Progress • On Wednesday, we will be discussing the novel and looking at the study guide and answer questions that you have been struggling with. • I will be checking your double entry journals and your independent (SSR) journal on 7/8.
