  2. 1.4 Different Ways of Seeing the World Calculate Reading Rate Read SSR Book for ten minutes. You will need to know how many pages you read, so note the page you begin reading.

  3. 1.4 Different Ways of Seeing the World Set a Reading Goal for the 1st quarter. # of pages read in 1 hour x 2 = Goal We will be checking our goals weekly and recalculate each quarter. My overall goal is that you increase your reading rate and stamina. Calculate Your Reading Rate Number of Pages Read in Ten Minutes P x 6 = # of pages read in 1 hour

  7. 3rd Period Consider: Respect is honoring the worth or dignity in a person or process. When we respect others, we take their preferences and ideas seriously. We thoughtfully weigh our own insights and experiences with theirs. Discuss : • What does a general attitude of respect look like? • How does it feel to be respectful or have someone treat you with respect?

  8. 4th Period Consider: Cultivating respect as a virtue does not mean insisting that all ideas, beliefs, or actions are respect-worthy. It does mean that we recognize the basic human dignity of others, even when their ideas or values are different than our own.  Discuss: • Each person has their own thoughts and beliefs. What can you do to recognize this with your own actions? • How does respecting others opinions affect your character?

  9. 8th Period • By representing yourself, you are showing yourself respect. How can you represent yourself at AHS?
