NHSU - structure • Virtual campus • Online learning; guidance on learning opportunities; setting up learning groups • Local Learning Resource Centres • Building partnerships locally; securing delivery of NHSU programmes and services • National Centre for Learning • Developing programmes and services; corporate governance and management; creating the infrastructure • Learning Needs Observatory • Identifying skills needs and ensuring provision of programmes to address needs • Research expertise • Including development of evidence based practice, providing tangible improvements for patients and service users

Ongoing research and evaluation • Recognition and QA of HE / FEIs • Review of standards • National Occupational Standards • Development of agreed qualifications framework for HI specialists • Link to CPD, formal HE / FE academic courses, short courses, NVQs • Prepare a case for NHS HI leadership, apprenticeship and graduate schemes

  10. Ongoing development of the Faculty will be organic, driven by demand.Work will be themed to meet the current strategic needs of the Service.

Members of the Faculty will draw on the learning and research opportunities of the Faculty and in return provide others with the benefits of their skills and knowledge in a collegiate atmosphere. Members will be leaders in health informatics through teaching, learning, research, standards, quality and publications.
