  4. Adverbs • Adverbs modify verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs. • They answer the questions: • Where? • When? • In what way? • To what extent? • They often end with –ly.

  5. Adverbs Modifying Adjectives, p. 362 • An adverb may modify an adjective. • It will answer the question “to what extent?” • The adverb will be found directly in front of the adjective that it modifies.
