  2. WHAT IS A KNOWLEDGE SILO? The term "knowledge silo" refers to a person or a group of people who have access to data that is not shared within the organisation. Rather than communicating and collaborating across the organisation, teams or departments work in isolation.

  3. THE HARMFUL EFFECTS OF KNOWLEDGE SILOS Teams become more isolated as they miss opportunities for cross-functional collaboration. Each team creates its own goals and objectives, which results in a need for more organisational alignment. Silos create a lack of trust between teams. Repetition of the same work creates expensive inefficiencies. Inconsistent brand messaging to customers. Poor employee engagement and a poor experience for customers. Knowledge silos can cost you time and money.
