Amendment 11 • The Judicial power of the United States shall not be construed to extend to any suit in law or equity, commenced or prosecuted against one of the United States by Citizens of another State, or by Citizens or Subjects of any Foreign State. • Sets up Immunity of states from suits from out-of-state citizens and foreigners not living within the state borders.

  4. Amendment 14 • Defines citizenship, • Contains the Privileges or Immunities Clause • The Due Process Clause • The Equal Protection Clause, • Deals with post-Civil War issues

  5. Amendment 15 • Prohibits the denial of suffrage based on race, color, or previous condition of servitude

  6. Amendment 16 • The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.

  16. Amendment 26 • Establishes the right to vote for those age 18 years or older

  17. Amendment 27 • Prevents laws affecting Congressional salary from taking effect until the beginning of the next session of Congress

  18. Amendment Project • You will each be assigned an amendment • You will each make a poster representing your amendment. • You can be creative with your project, make it a political cartoon, picture representing your amendment. • You will present to the class your poster and explain it.
