  2. What do you do? Long overdue change is coming. You are tasked with rewriting the library’s collection development policy. Do you… Cower under your desk and hope they forget you’re there? Change the revision date on the old policy, since no one ever reads it anyway. Attend this groovy conference session and get some ideas!

  5. Ye Olde Policy-some problems A policy that just describes what is on the shelf is not a real policy. No language about electronic resources. No real direction, no areas of emphasis.

  13. A shift in direction a 2006 survey revealed our heaviest users of electronic resources are engaged in scientific research in social, medical, and environmental sciences. Respondents to this survey reported a desire for online access to academic, peer-reviewed research journals and document delivery of articles directly to their desktops. Having such intensive users in a diverse array of workspaces throughout the state of Missouri dictates a shift toward remotely accessible resources.
