Native Mode Dependencies • There is no such concept as “Exchange 2003 native mode.” Both Exchange 2000 and 2003 servers can live in a native mode Exchange organization. • However … • Query-based Distribution Groups (QDGs) can only be created in a native mode Exchange organization. • If routing bridgehead pairs are upgraded to Exchange 2003 in a native mode org, they will use 8BITMIME data transfers instead of converting down to 7-bit. This equates to a considerable bytes on the wire saving over Routing Group Connectors. • In native mode, the Exchange Store automatically ignores and removes zombie ACE entries (applicable if you previously had Exchange 5.5 in the organization).
