  2. 06/07 modules removed 07/08 students added to the current module as information becomes available from registry** (ongoing through year) Archiving of 06/07 modules And Students are removed from current module* Timeline 2007 This is a timeline summary of the process for recycling Blackboard modules in 2007 Aug Sep Oct Jul Nov NOTES * 06/07 Students only will continue to have access to 06/07 modules until November but will no longer see current module ** 07/08 students will get access to Bb modules only after departments have processed the enrolments to registry FOR STEP BY STEP INFORMATION CLICK ANYWHERE ON THIS SLIDE NOW

  3. 16 – 31 July 2007 The process which will begin mid July applies to standard academic modules which follow the normal university year – special arrangements will apply to courses that fall outside this. abc123 Current module taught in 2006/07 CLICK ANYWHERE TO CONTINUE

  4. 0607_abc123 COPY of module taught in 06/07 16 – 31 July 2007 In the middle of July a copy will be made of each current year module which with a new code like this – abc123 CURRENT module At the same time an additional complete archive of all the 06-07 modules complete with students will be created and stored on DVDs CLICK ANYWHERE TO CONTINUE

  5. 16 – 31 July 2007 06/07 Students removed From current module abc123 06/07 Students will be able to see their 0607 (copy) modules until Nov 2007 0607_abc123 CURRENT MODULE If an instructor needs access to an old 06/07 module this can be given on request to the Blackboard Team COPY MODULE CLICK ANYWHERE TO CONTINUE Instructors removed from 06/07 copy modules

NEW Students will be added to current module from August as they enrol – student enrolment is dependent ontimely submission of enrolments by departments to registry abc123 06/07 students cannot see the “current” module and the 07/08 students cannot see the 06/07 (copy) modules. However 06/07 students continue to see their modules for re-sits etc 0607_abc123 CURRENT MODULE Content is left unchanged for instructors to edit COPY MODULE CLICK ANYWHERE TO CONTINUE

  7. abc123 CURRENT MODULE – 07/08 Start of Year 07/08 Access to the 06/07 (copy) modules will cease in November 0607_abc123 Please remember that the new cohort students, even those in 2nd or 3rd year, may not have used Blackboard before so it is a good idea to give them an overview of how your modules are structured at the start of the year CLICK ANYWHERE TO CONTINUE

The current year module always remains intact – we don’t change content in any way • Instructors can continue to add to, remove or edit materials – however changes made before mid July will be seen by 06/07 students and will be part of the end of year archive • If you want to add or change materials now that you don’t want 06/07 students to see then make these items unavailable until August • Content added and changes made from August onwards will only be seen by 07/08 students • If you re-use Turnitin UK assignments then you will need to use the “sync roster” link, for each one, so that the right cohort of students is displayed Notes- abc123 CURRENT MODULE 07/08 CLICK ANYWHERE TO CONTINUE
