  2. We need to make a new science notebook because you probably already ran out of room. We are getting ready to start our new unit titled, Earth in the Universe.

  3. What materials will you need? 1. You will need paper. Lets start with 10 pieces of paper. 2. You will need a pencil. 3. Optional- a fastener like a stapler to hold it together.

  4. On the front of the notebook___________________________________________ _______________’s Science Notebook Earth in the Universe Earth Systems, Structures and Processes _______________________________________ Draw a picture of the planet Earth on the front.

  8. Universe:The huge space which contains all of the matter and energy in existence.

  9. Sun: a star that is the source of light and heat for the planets in the solar system.

  11. Planet: An object moving around a star.

  12. Rotates: When an object spins

  13. Moon: An object circling a planet

  14. Shadow: an area of darkness that is created when something blocks light

  15. Seasons: one of the four periods of the year

  16. In our next lesson we will be learning about the universe.
