Understanding Call Numbers for Fiction Books in the Library

Let's learn about call numbers! A call number serves as a book's address in the library, guiding you to where it resides on the shelves. Our library features two types of books: fiction and nonfiction. Today, we'll focus on creating call numbers for fiction books. A fiction call number consists of two parts: "FIC" for fiction and the first three letters of the author's last name. For example, a book by Gary Paulsen has the call number FIC.PAU. We'll also explore how to organize these books in alphabetical order.
