  1. When God Initiates Change in my Life…Acts 2:36-38 then 41

  2. Acts 2:36-38 (NIV) then 4136 "Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ."37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?"38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.  Scripture

  3. When God initiates spiritual change in my life it goes beyond head knowledge to the piercing of my heart and a revealing look at who I am. • 37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart... • Hebrews 4:12 (KJV)12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Point # 1

  4. When God initiates spiritual change in my life I am the one asking "What shall I do?" • 36 "Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ." • 37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?" Point # 2

  5. When God initiates spiritual change in my life, I will know it, because my response will always begin by dealing with the sin in my life.   • 38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Point # 3

  6. You may be saying that God touched me during the sermon but it is a private thing; it is a personal matter. Let me read: Acts 2:41 (KJV)  • 41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.  • How would they have known 3,000 were added to the faith. It was a public expression. We, as your fellow church members, need to know when God initiates change in you because it stirs me with hope that God will initiate change in me. Conclusion
