Enhancing Professional Development with Learning Through Objects: A Smithsonian Collaboration
The Learning with Objects Professional Development Cluster, launched in June 2006 with the Smithsonian Institution, aims to provide K-12 educators and administrators in Delaware, Arkansas, and Wisconsin with innovative professional development opportunities. Beginning in Summer 2007, participants will explore how objects can be integrated into the classroom to enhance learning. The program includes workshops, museum partnerships, and the creation of classroom exhibits, encouraging hands-on, object-based learning. Educators will develop portfolios and participate in showcases to share insights and experiences.
