  2. The Diploma Supplement? What is it and what are the conditions for use which template should be used and why. Going through the eight (8) items of the DS. How to use the instruction and its update (2007) The Diploma Supplement label. One example of concrete support for universities by the Bologna experts What is/can be the contribution of the Bologna Experts regarding the DS label and its proper use Where to find the DS instrument, template and label information Update Diploma Supplement

The recognition instrument that provides information about the degree and the (content) qualifications of the student and where they obtained the qualifications Conditions for use: • European template (UNESCO/CEPES/EC) • Handed out to all students automaticly • Free of charge • In one widely spoken European language

  6. The Diploma Supplement Label Why: To be able to check if a university has implemented the DS in a proper way ( like an ECTS label) • Relaunched in 2009 • New Role for Bologana experts • Information, advising and first check • NA propose to the EC • EC decide granting the label

  7. Why? It gives the Bologna experts insight in the position of the universities and what is needed to get them implementing the Diploma Supplement (taylor made) So the questionaire is a checklist for universities also. A helpful questionaire?

  9. Does your institution currently issue a diploma supplement according to the UNESCO/CEPES template? Does your institution plan to apply for an DS label in the future? Would you appreciate the advice or support from a member of your national team of Bologna Experts? Some of the questions

  10. Does your institution currently have a DS label? Is your institution aware of the fact that issuing a DS according to the UNESCO/CEPES template will become a legal requirement for HE institutions? (This applies to HEIs in the Netherlands; it may not apply to your country) Some Questions (2)

  11. Most institutions replied Use of prescribed template?Yes=47.6 % 94.4 % issued a DS Although the template is prescribed ( by Dutch Law) only 50 % is able to use the template? Most of them found it not a priority (eventuelly, mabye or no plans) Some findings
