  1. Filming a sequence Workshop 2

  2. in this workshop we explored what it takes to create and film a small sequence.  After last week's workshop and learning how to set up a tripod and the camera, we re-capped this process and from there continued onto filming. The first thing that we talked about was the apropriate language to use on a film set, when on a set it is important to make sure that when you are ready to film everyone else knows this too, therefor when you are ready to film you say 'standby' and the rest of the crew will know that they need to stop what they are doing and get ready to start filming, after this whoever is on the camera will start the camera and proceed to say camera rolling, and lastly the director or the person in charge of the shoot will say action and the filming will proceed. Using this language is important as it eliminated any kind of misscommunication or misunderstandings, saying something simple like are we ready can be taken in difefrent ways and is unclear and wastes time and money. Using the appropriate lingo for a film set allows for a smooth flowing filming and a good overall product. when the camera is rolling it important to make sure that we do not break the 180-degree rule, meaning that we need to make sure thatv we dont film the actors from the wrong angle making them appear on the different side of the screen, this adds continuity to what we are seeing and makes sure that the people watching are not confused. after the filming has been done the director of photogoraphy will say cut and the processis over.
